UPDATE 31/01/2017: The winners of the Sirha Lyon 2017 competitions Since the 2015 edition the world of gastronomy, restaurants and hospitality has been waiting to be able to enjoy one of the industry's most important trade fairs: Sirha Lyon 2017. From the 21st to the 25th of January, Sirha will unite professionals connected to the world of gastronomy in Lyon where they will learn about the latest innovations and market trends, in addition to being able to enjoy a schedule of very interesting conferences and competitions. Below we will highlight the most relevant: Bocuse d'Or Final (Vegetables) The final of one of the most important competitions in the world for chefs, held every two years only, will take place on the 24th of January. The Bocuse d'Or will go to the world's best chef, after two years competing to reach this stage; Sirha Lyon. What's more, it's the Bocuse d'Or's 30th birthday, which is why the organisational committee want to make it especial. For example, this year the dishes must be 100% vegetables, with the possibility of including two products from the country of origin of the participant (all with the added difficulty of not being able to use scented oils. Final of the World Pastry Cup Another big final will also take place at Sirha 2017. Fifty French teams and four continental selections from Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America will compete for the world pastry cup. They will have to make: 3 chocolate desserts with Grands Crus, 3 frozen fruit desserts, 15 desserts, an artistic sugar piece, an artistic chocolate piece and an ice sculpture. The 2017 International Catering Cup As the name indicates, this cup is awarded to the world's best catering company. The 12 participating countries must demonstrate their skills and knowledge when it comes to organising a meal with excellent presentation and originality and without forgetting the food product rules. Pordamsa wasn't going to miss out on the event of the year. This year, at Sirha 2017, the company will have stand 6F83, where the Nòrdica collection, made of handmade glass, and the Barcelona collection, made from hand-polished white porcelain with a shiny finish in the centre and matt around the edges, will be presented.
